Dr. Pemberton twitter campaign

While working on the Coke account at W+K, my partner Brian Murphy and I were asked to create a Twitter personality for Dr. Pemberton, creator of Coca-Cola. And so we did. It was more fun than a day of hoop trundling.

Being that Dr. Pemberton is 125 years old, there was a fairly steep learning curve as he tried to figure out how to "tweet". He introduced himself to the world of Twitter via a hand-written letter. 


Next up was a telegraph message.

Finally he started to get the hang of it and posted his first tweets.

After the @docpemberton Twitter account gained some momentum, we created a contest wherein followers with positive tweets would have a chance to be crowned Dr. Pemberton’s “Tweeter of the Week.”


After a "Tweeter of the Week" was chosen, we would send the winner a video such as this.

And as the video says, we would send the winners a wooden case full of Dr. Pemberton goodies.
